I ‘ll be waiting for the releasing of Aiza’s Album right here in Indonesia. Filipino singers are really international quality. Last 2 years until now, Christian Bautista was loved by the Indonesian people because of the quality performance of Christian. He did mall shows, series of concerts and promotions of Indonesia’s product Artea. In fact I sang with him because I won ticket for free concert and free dinner with him. That was last year.
And now, the launching of Aiza Seguerra’s album containing revival songs. Mabuhay.
Aiza goes international
Singer Aiza Seguerra has just released her album “Open Arms” produced by S2S Productions in Singapore.
Co-produced by Star Records, Aiza’s recording label in the Philippines, “Open Arms” contains an all-English revival hit songs from the past decades such as “Open Arms,” “Vincent,” “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” “Time After Time,” “Smooth Operator,” “Home,” “Journey” and “Longer.”
Aiza described her newest album “raw sounding” because the recording did not make use of the latest equipment in studio recording.
She said “Open Arms” came about after S2S Productions chose her “Para Lang Sa ‘Yo” album sent by Star Records as demos. The producers then chose Aiza, met with her and Star Records to finalize the deal.
Aiza shared, “Siguro nagustuhan nila yung pagka-simple ng music. Nag-enjoy sila sa tipo ng music. When I was in Singapore, wala naman akong narinig na ganun din na live talaga and bare yung music pero maganda talaga. Maririnig mo na kahit simple ang pagka-areglo sa kanya, lalabas yung ganda ng kanta.”
Aiza, whose signature “Pagdating ng Panahon” shattered existing music records, is proud of her album.
“First time ko lang ito man! Siyempre masayang masaya ako. Actually hindi ako makapaniwala,” she said.
Aiza revealed the producers demanded a certain quality and sound from the album. She delivered. She performed all songs in her album with live instruments even though this is a studio album.
“Open Arms” will also be launched in Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines and Japan on August.
Aiza Seguerra is in the cast of Atlantis Productions’ third and final run of “Avenue Q” in the Philippines. She is reprising her role as Gary Coleman. In October, she will be leaving with the cast to stage “Avenue Q” from Oct. 25 till Nov. 16 at The Esplanade in Singapore.
As one of the cast members of Atlantis Productions’s comedy musical Avenue Q, Aiza Seguerra will be traveling to Singapore to perform at the Esplanade Theatre from October 31 to November 16. But this won’t be the only chance that viewers in Singapore will be able to see Aiza perform on stage.
The singer-actress plays Gary Coleman in Avenue Q, which is scheduled to run at the RCBC Plaza until June 22, 2008.
Will she be based in Singapore while promoting this album?
“Yun yung sinabi pero hindi ako magbe-base dun. Kumbaga, pupunta ako dun sa Singapore pero Southeast Asia ang market. I think kasama ang Indonesia and Malaysia. Sa Philippines hindi ko pa alam kung kelan ilalabas…plus Japan.”
How did she choose the songs to be included in this album?
“They gave me a list of songs and from there, namili ako ng 15 songs. So from those 15 songs, pinili nila yung sampu,” narrates Aiza.
Aiza’s tenth album (which is also her first international album) is produced by S2S Singapore. She narrates how she got in touch with this Singaporean company.
“Ang Star Records pala nagpapadala sila ng samples ng mga nire-release nila dito. Nagustuhan ng S2S yung sa akin at nagulat ako kasi this year lang nangyari lahat. Around February, tumawag ang S2S Singapore na interested sila to do an album [with me]. Nanood sila ng gig and then okay na.
“We went to Singapore to have a mini-concert para makilala ako ng mga Singaporeans. Sobrang kabadong-kabado ako kasi nag-iisang Pinoy ako dun, e. Ginawa na rin namin yung photo shoot sa Singapore.”
Aiza is currently signed up with Star Records but on a per project basis.
